James Fiesta School Parade

This year I was really excited about James' school Fiesta parade because I knew he was in Ms. Martha's class this year so they get to make their own fiesta float to wear. In this case the float is a cardboard box that they can decorate to pull along with them or wear around their bodies. James and I had a great time working on his float and it turned out super cute. Of course the day of the parade, while waiting for the parade to start, some of the balloons and feathers we had affixed to the float decided to fall off, sending James into a slight temper tantrum, but luckily we were able to overcome it. He and his classmates along with the rest of the children from the school were incredibly cute and we had a great time. I just wish Daddy could have been there, but alas he was out of town on business. Next year!

NIOSA 2013

Another year, another round of NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio). I had to go one night without Mike again this year because he was called out of town on business. I decided to take James on that night so I could have a date night with the hubby on the other. As always we had a wonderful time. Even if the weather was as little chilly this year.

The Texas Cavalier's River Parade 2013

As with every year, we headed down to the Cavalier's San Antonio River Parade. It started off with a wonderful fajita and margarita dinner at the Plaza Club and then we headed down to the parade. This year Mike invited two if his employees and their families, so we had an extra large party with us. As always it was a wonderful fun time, even with James pouting about the floats not throwing enough candy and goodies for him. No, he's not spoiled at all ;-)!

Best of the West Festival

This past Sunday we headed to the Best of the West Festival at the Our Lady of the Lake University. My best friend who works for one of the Council women here in San Antonio received VIP tickets to the festival so we were treated to free entry and free food and drinks. They had a great children's area with a bounce house, rock climbing wall, crafts areas and a wild animal exhibit so James had plenty to keep him busy.

Bolsa Bag Painting party

In preparation for NIOSA this year we had a bag painting party to get the bags ready for sale at the Night In Old San Antonio. We always say we are going to have parties throughout the year so that we aren't scrambling to get them done at the last minute, but that never happens. So of course the weekend before NIOSA we were frantically painting bags. We had a great time and ended up with a lot of wonderful bags. Maybe this year we can get them finished a little bit earlier ;-)

Alamo Heights Night 2013

It's Fiesta time in San Antonio and you know what that means...too many crazy late night events all crammed into one week. We kicked off Fiesta by heading to Alamo Heights Night last Friday. It was our second year going and we had a blast going with our good friends the Holmstroms again this year.

Thing 1 & 2 Sip N' See

This past weekend I threw a lovely sip n' see for my brother and sis-in-law and they're adorable twins, Cece and Wolf. Even though it's done often for twin parties I wanted to do a Thing 1 and Thing 2 theme. All in all I think it turned out really cute.
