Splash Day!

Today was a splash day at James' school, which is one of the many fun things they do in their summer program. The kids wear their swimming suits to school and run through multiple sprinklers. They also have sidewalk chalk and bubbles for all to enjoy. I decided to stop by in order to snap some photos of all of the fun that was going on. James is really looking forward to having these special days each and every week of summer.

Father's Day 2013

This past weekend we had a really nice relaxing Father's Day. We had an early celebration on Saturday night at the Plaza Club with my parents for a very nice steak dinner. The food was delicious and they even made chicken fingers and fries for James, which he loved. On Sunday we did burgers and swimming at my Dad's. All in all it was a great Father's Day weekend!

Using James' paintings I created these Father's Day presents for Daddy and both grandfathers
(of course I forgot to take pictures of Poppy's and Baw Paw's, but they turned out just as cute!)

Dinosaurs Unearthed

Recently we took James back to the Witte Museum to see the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit again. He of course loved it this time just as much as he did before. I am very happy that we have such a wonderful Museum here locally that always brings such amazing exhibits to town.

Summer Fun!

It's summertime so that means it's time for some fun summer activities. We recently took James to Pixie skate with some of his friends which he always loves. Daddy and him had a great time roller skating while mommy watched on the sidelines. I've also included some pictures of James enjoying some sprinkler fun. We are looking forward to many fun summer activities before James is joined by his little brother.

NPDS End of Year Picnic

Another year has come and gone for James at NPDS which we celebrated with a picnic at the school last Thursday. We luckily have one more year at NPDS, but I will be very sad when James graduates to Kindergarten next year. This preschool was wonderful when I went there many many years ago and still is. I am so thankful that we have had the opportunity to move back to San Antonio and to my old neighborhood so that James could experience such a wonderful childhood. He's building lifelong friendships and memories. Any way, I'm getting off topic. Here are some photos from the evening:

Everyone enjoying the picnic

As always the kiddos loved the bounce house

Goodbye Young 4's Class

Since we started James at Northwood Presbyterian Day School 3 years ago, we were anxiously awaiting to be in Ms. Martha's Young 4's class, because of all of the wonderful things we heard about her and her class. She definitely did not disappoint. This was one of James' most exciting and fun years in preschool yet. We are really going to miss being in Ms. Martha's class. I guess the silver-lining is that we still have one more year at NPDS so we will be able to see Ms. Martha everyday and luckily the young 4's and older 4's do a lot of activities together.

Since we had such a wonderful year with Ms. Martha and Ms. Heidy I wanted to do something really nice for them. I coordinated with all of the parents in the class to pool some money together to get gift cards for both of the teachers. We collected over $500 to split between the teachers! I saw this cute idea where your make card-stock flowers to put the gift cards in and then place them in a plant. It turned out really cute and I think the teachers really enjoyed it. Thank you for a wonderful year Ms. Martha and Ms. Heidy. We love you!

James' first date

We had the opportunity to take one of James' good friends, McKay to pasta night with us at the Plaza Club last night. I guess you could say it was his first little date with a girl. They were absolutely adorable together and had a great time. It's really cute because McKay is always saying she wants to marry James and he is your typical little 4-year old boy...completely disgusted by the idea. Regardless he always has a blast with McKay and I see her becoming one of his good friends for many years to come.
