Jackson's 6 month check-up

Baby boy is already 6 months old! Time flies when you're having fun, right? :-) He is starting to get so big and everyone keeps telling me that he looks big for a 6 month old. Well apparently we're all crazy, because he's still a little munchkin. Here's the stats:

Weight: 15 lbs. 4 oz. (10th percentile)
Height: 25 inches (2nd percentile!)
Clothing size: 6 mos, although he can still fit into some 3-6 mos clothing
Diapers: size 3, but still fits in 2's
Feeding schedule: Still 6 oz. every 4 hours

Doc says if he keeps growing at this rate, he will likely only be 5' 5'' or 5' 6''...I'm praying he starts growing a bit more. I'd feel so guilty if he got stuck with my shortness. I guess he'll at least have his looks ;-). Other than being on the small side, he is doing great in all other aspects. He has started rolling over from his back to his tummy, but has a hard time getting back over to his back, which absolutely pisses him off. He is starting to sit up unassisted, although he eventually falls over. I anticipate he'll be doing it completely on his own without falling over soon. I had begun giving him some baby food a month or so ago and his first few feedings were a success, but then he just started being uninterested. I am planning on starting him on baby food again this week and hopefully it will go better this time.

Jackson is a very happy baby with smiles that can just melt your heart. He still loves the jumperoo and Baby TV and playing with his brother. I've noticed that he is a bit of a Mama's boy and really prefers to be held by me more than anyone else, which I guess makes sense as I am with him the most, but I feel like James we never like that. He didn't discriminate who was holding him just as long as he as being held. On the other hand, Jackson only likes to be held for so long, then he wants to be put down. He is just an absolute joy and I am trying to cherish every moment I have with him because before I know it, he'll be a big boy like James. Just don't grow up too fast Jackson!

Valentines Day 2014

I've been meaning to make a post about Valentines day, but I've just been so busy I haven't gotten around to it. This was a special Valentines Day because it was the first one in 3 years that I was able to spend with my honey. We were able to get a wonderful babysitter (thank you Angie!) to watch the boys so we could go to the Plaza Club for a delicious dinner and dance. It was a wonderful time and I am so blessed to have such a loving and wonderful husband as my Valentine.

James was overly excited about Valentines day because he has an adorable little girl in his class who he considers his girlfriend. He made her an adorable card and bought her a sweet little stuffed horse (I'm kicking myself that I didn't take a picture of it) which he hand delivered to her on Valentine's Day. It was so sweet, even sweeter was that the card said "Caroline, will you marry me?" So precious! Although, I'm not sure I'm ready for this to happen yet, but still it was very cute. We also made some really sweet teacher gifts which were mason jars filled with homemade muddie buddies & M&Ms (chex cereal covered with peanut butter, chocolate and powdered sugar...absolutely addictive). I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day!

Superbowl 2014

So this year we didn't have any plans for the Superbowl, so I decided I'd have a couple of friends and their kids over. Well a couple somehow turned into 20 and we ended up with a houseful of friends and kids. I really didn't mean for it turn into a full-blown party, but what can I say the Beadles know how to throw a party and when the word got out, party-time was in full swing. Mike was excited to use his birthday present from last year (a giant outdoor inflatable screen), so we set that up with the game and since it ended up being chilly we put a fire in the fire pit. As always we had way too much food, but it was all delicious. I really didn't watch any of the game and actually didn't catch many of the commercials either. I was too busy hanging out with my friends and enjoying everyone's company. From the sounds of it I didn't really miss much in terms of the game, it looks like Seattle slaughtered Denver. Which was kind of a bummer because I was rooting for Peyton Manning, but at the end of the day I didn't really care since it wasn't the Cowboys :-) Anyway, we had such a great time I'm not sure, but we may make this an annual tradition. Mike complains that I throw too many parties, but I just really enjoying having them and truth be told...so does he!
